Quick Start for Sony Ericsson P1i
 		 
   

“Sony Ericsson P1i now comes pre-configured with pfingoTALK!”

Welcome to pfingoTALK! We are pleased to offer our service together exclusively in Singapore with Sony Ericsson on its P1i.
To use pfingoTALK on your Sony Ericsson P1i, follow these 5 simple steps.

Step 1 – Check that your Sony Ericsson P1i has Internet Telephony
Step 2 – Do you have a pfingo account?
Step 3 – Set up your pfingo username and password on your Sony Ericsson P1i
Step 4 – Configure WLAN on your Sony Ericsson P1i
Step 5 – To start pfingoTALK

Step 1 – Check that your Sony Ericsson P1i has Internet Telephony.
   
(i)
   Your phone has Internet Telephony, if you can locate pfingo icon  on the main screen. Please proceed to Step 2.
(ii)
   If you can’t locate pfingo icon please check if there is "Internet Telephony" under Main Menu-> Tools.
If you can locate “Internet Telephony” under Main Menu -> Tools, please proceed to Step 2.
If you cannot locate Internet Telephony, please contact Sony Ericsson (Singapore) helpline at +65-6744-0733 to have the “Internet Telephony” software installed.
     
 
Step 2 – Do you have a pfingo account?
(i)
   If you have pfingo account, please proceed to the next step
(ii)
   If you do not have pfingo account, click here to register now.
   
 
Step 3a – Set up your pfingo username and password on your Sony Ericsson P1i
  This is for you who already have pfingo account and you could locate pfingo icon   earlier on the main screen.
Click on the pfingo icon
   
   
Click on More -> Settings  
Click on sip.pfingo.com profile.
Select “Edit” and enter the following:
 
(1)User name (mandatory): 3XXXXXXX (your pfingoTALK number)
(2)Password: ****** (your pfingoTALK PIN)
(3)Click “Save”
Return to Main Menu.
     
   
     
Step 3b – Set up your pfingo username and password on your Sony Ericsson P1i
    This is for you who already have pfingo account and you could not locate pfingo icon   earlier on the main screen.
   
   
Click on “Control Panel’   
Select ‘Internet Telephony Settings’.
At the VoIP tab, click “More” -> New Profile and enter “sip.pfingo.com” as profile name. Click “Done”, you will find sip.pfingo.com under ”Other profiles.”
     
   
   
Click on sip.pfingo.com profile, select “Use”
Select “Edit” and enter the following:
 
(1)SIP proxy (mandatory): sip.pfingo.com
(2)User name (mandatory): 3XXXXXXX (your pfingoTALK number)
(3)Password: ****** (your pfingoTALK PIN)
(4)Outbound proxy: sip.pfingo.com
(5)Click “Save”
Return to Main Menu.
     
     
Step 4 – Configure WLAN on your Sony Ericsson P1i
   
   
Select ”Control Panel”
  
Select ”Connections”
 
Select “WLAN”
Select “More”
     
   
 
1.Select “Enable WLAN”
2.Click the “Scan” button to scan for available WLAN networks
3.Once the device has completed scanning, select the appropriate WLAN network from the list displayed
4.If a network key password is required, you will be prompted to enter it and then click “Save”.  Otherwise, you will see the message “Connected”.
     
     
Step 5 – To start pfingoTALK
    If your phone has the pfingo icon click on it, followed by the steps described here.
Otherwise, navigate from Main Menu -> Tools -> Internet Telephony.
   
   
Click on the “More” button
 
Select the “Connect Internet Tel” from the list of options
  
You are now ready to make or receive calls
     
    You may make calls to any local or overseas number by dialing and calling as per normal.
    To call overseas, you simply dial <<country code>> + <<area code>> + <<telephone number>>
(Please note:  ‘+’ symbol is not required).)
